Title: Nintendo’s Evolution Archival Website
The “Nintnedo’s Evolution” is an archival website that traces the journey through the game graphics lens. From the simplicity of the 8-bit era to the realism of today's high-definition masterpieces, this digital museum unfolds the visual narrative of Nintendo's iconic game; Super Mario, and the devices behind each era.
Whilst creating the visual narrative of the website, I was inspired by Tanner Villarete’s iPod webpage where the whole site was designed to feel like you are using the device to navigate through the page. So for my design, I took Villarete’s idea and changed it so that the main frame became the Nintendo Switch device instead of the iPod. The twist I added to my archival site was to include graphics used on older devices such as the Nintendo Entertainment System, the Game Boy, and the DS as part of the Nintendo Switch’s screen graphic to show the contrast between the old and the new.

Title: Nintendo’s Evolution Interview Zine
Size: 135 x 102 mm | 38 pages
As a continuation of the website, this zine allows us to dive into the intricate challenges faced by my friend; who is currently studied game arts at De Montfort University in Leicester, England, as she strives to find the delicate balance between intricate design and technical limitations.
Through the lens of personal experiences, I understood the art of transforming captivating designs into game-ready characters, navigating the intricate dance between creativity and practicality. This interview also offers a glimpse into her struggles and the importance of maintaining diversity in the visual tapestry of gaming. It speaks to those who appreciate the whimsy of stylized characters and the innovation that comes with steering away from the realistic tide.
